Donnelly River Verandah residencies 2017
I spent a week in a Karri Forest village in the dead of winter (August).
The work I produced there, an inspired by the experience, and the work of the other 5 artists, is on display at
Earlywork Gallery, 330 South Terrace, Fremantle
16 Sept- 8 Oct 2017
It was freezing and possums pooed on my work (some say improved my work) but I loved the huge black trees rotting on the vivid green, lichen covered, forest floor. These little works (Dark Spaces) came from my interest in the small funghi that lived in the black bark. They surprised me by how much they resembled coral and other underwater creatures.
Hope to see you at the opening night (22 September)
